Every crew that rolls out of our Mission Viejo office answers to the same standard. Grant Rowan built that system, but it’s the people on your driveway and in your kitchen who make it real. Background-checked, uniformed, and trained to document every visit with a photo record. No one works solo until they’ve proven they can explain a written quote, spot a substrate problem, and finish within the scope the customer signed.

Grant Rowan, Owner
I started Rowan in 2007 after watching too many jobs go sideways on handshake pricing and change-order surprises. Seventeen years and 4,000-plus projects later, the lesson hasn’t changed: put the price in writing before anyone picks up a hammer, and don’t start work without a signed scope. Under Clause 1 of the Haven Standard, that’s non-negotiable. I still walk sites when a project runs into something harder than the estimate suggested, usually with a dry comment about whatever the previous contractor left behind. I name brands in quotes - KraftMaid, Cambria, GAF, Belgard - because specific numbers and real specs beat adjectives every time. When I’m not reviewing photo records or checking that change orders got signed before work resumed, I’m usually finding something on a job site that turned out more interesting than the plans showed.
Marcus T., Lead Technician - Roofing & Exterior Systems
Marcus has been tearing off roofs in Orange County for fourteen years, and he can still surprise you with what he finds under old shingles. He counts layers, notes the condition of the decking substrate, and explains in plain terms whether you’re looking at a straightforward recover or a full tear-off with plywood replacement. GAF Master Elite certified, with a side specialty in Owens Corning systems for the steeper pitches you see in the Mission Viejo hills. His photo records are meticulous - every valley, every vent stack, every nail pattern - because he knows the customer wasn’t up on the ladder to see it. Off the job, he restores vintage motorcycles and brings the same patience to both.
Elena V., Senior Installer - Kitchen & Bath
Elena started as a cabinet apprentice in Anaheim and worked her way up to running full kitchen remodels, including the mechanical rough-in coordination that most installers hand off. She knows KraftMaid’s spec book by memory and can spot a Wellborn door that’s out of square before the hinge goes in. Her specialty is wet-area waterproofing - Schluter membrane systems, proper weep screed placement, why a shower pan fails six years later when the membrane was cut short. Customers get her photo record showing each layer: subfloor condition, cement board seams, membrane overlap measurements. She keeps a small garden in San Juan Capistrano and grows tomatoes that she claims are better than anything at the Mission Viejo farmers market.
David K., Service Coordinator
David is the live person who answers when you call (657) 297-4635, including the after-hours line. He’s been with Rowan since 2019, which means he’s heard every version of “how much will this cost” and knows how to get you a written quote, not a guess. He schedules the crew, confirms material deliveries from our fifty-plus vetted brands, and makes sure every customer leaves with three documents: the written price, the photo record, and the warranty terms. He grew up in Laguna Niguel, knows the Mission Viejo permit office hours by heart, and will tell you exactly which inspector tends to flag fence post depth on slope lots. He surfs San Onofre when the swell is right and has the schedule flexibility to prove it.
Jake R., Apprentice - General Construction & ADU
Jake joined us in 2022 after two years in a handyman franchise that he won’t name but will describe in enough detail that you understand why he left. He’s learning every trade Rowan offers, from paver base compaction to window flashing to the California ADU code changes that went into effect January 2024. Currently shadowing Elena on kitchen rough-ins and Marcus on roof tear-offs. His photo records are already cleaner than some veterans’, maybe because he’s still proving himself. He lives with his parents in Aliso Viejo, drives a truck older than he is, and asks better questions than most journeymen.
