DIY or Call Us?

There is nothing here that will send you to the emergency room, which is more than we can say for garage door springs. The risk of DIY paver repair is financial: lift a section without checking the base, relay on old bedding sand, and you’ll be doing it again in two seasons when the same hollow spot returns. What an owner can safely check is the drainage pattern. Run a hose on the field and watch where water goes. If it pools, the base has settled; if it sheets off, the issue may be joint sand alone.

Where DIY goes wrong is compaction. A hand tamper will not achieve the 95% modified Proctor density that a plate compactor delivers, and without that density, the base settles under load.
