For Mission Viejo kitchens built between 2015 and 2022, we most commonly see Pro Series P2430 and P2436 panels in shaker-style frames. The critical compatibility gotcha: Pro Series glass is 1/32″ thicker than the Classic equivalent in the same nominal size. A P2430 will not seat properly in a Classic Series frame; the gasket will bulge and the door will rack. Signs Your Mr-Glass Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing

• Spider cracking at hinge corners. Tempered glass carries residual surface compression; a hinge misalignment or over-torqued screw creates a stress riser that propagates overnight. In Mission Viejo, we see this most often on upper cabinets where seasonal settling has shifted the frame slightly out of square.
• Fogging between double-pane door panels. The perimeter seal has failed, admitting kitchen humidity. Once the desiccant strip saturates, the fog becomes permanent. The glass is still structurally sound, but the aesthetic is gone and the moisture will eventually swell MDF frames.
• Chipping along the polished edge. This indicates contact with a metal shelf bracket or cookware pulled from an adjacent cabinet. Pro Series pencil edges are more resistant than Classic, but neither survives direct impact from a cast-iron Dutch oven.
• Delamination of low-E coating. Appears as a milky haze that won’t wipe off, usually on doors facing a window or sliding door. Mission Viejo’s UV index peaks above 9 for six months of the year; uncoated glass or failed low-E degrades faster here than in coastal Orange County.
• Door rattle or gasket squeeze-out. The panel is undersized for the frame, or the original gasket has hardened. Mr-Glass specifies EPDM gasket material with 30-35 Shore A durometer; hardware-store gasket stock is usually 40-45 and won’t compress enough for a tight seal.

Every replacement includes removal and disposal of the failed panel, installation with fresh EPDM gasket, hinge torque to Mr-Glass specification (4.5 N·m for Pro Series soft-close), and a documented photo record of the before condition and finished work. DIY or Call Us?
